                 BABA SALA IN TERRIBLE HEALTH CONDITION

    Pa Moses Adejumo at 80, aka Baba Sala, Nigeria’s first king of comedy  and film producer,  has traversed the tough terrains of life and survived the greatest of the most turbulent winds.

He has reached the highest points of life. Rising and staying above all hasn’t been easy but this Icon has a spring where those coming behind him drank from to reach greater heights. But will people continue to drink from this spring for long given his fast deteriorating health? With his current status and age, can he still influence the lives of all and sundry?

     On a visit by 'Saturday Telegraph' to his residence in Ilesa, Osun state, the pacesetting Icon in the film industry is in a terribly bad state of health as he his presently suffering from bad hearing predicaments alongside bad sight making it impossible for him to see and hear. With the aid of his youngest wife who managed to whisper questions into his ear, he was able to pick a few and responded accordingly.

   When asked about what led to his ill-health, the actor stated that, he had been having issues with is health since 1978 when one of his brother-in-law  whose name was withheld, stole his master tape of a film titled “OrunMorun” and pirated it.

“ I and my two wives had psychological traumas during this period to the extent that it was so tough for many years.
“ We nearly went mad as we ran everywhere in search of the missing master tape of the film.
“ We fasted and prayed copiously to locate the whereabouts of the film but when I later discovered that it was my brother-in-law that stole the film and gave it out to those that pirated it, I wept uncontrollably, but there was nothing I could do because of the person involved.
“ Stealing of the film threw me into a state of confusion and caused a lot of setback for me in the film industry.
“It retarded my zeal at initial stage  before I forged ahead later with absolute optimism to put the problem behind me”, he said.

   On remembrance of the death of his two wives that stood behind him, he said the incident was part of what led to their early death and that their names are written in gold in his mind, as they stood firmly behind him during the travail. In conclusion, he gave all thanks to God for for his kindness over him, saying he would forever be in the vineyard of God.
