The NYSC body has released the time table for the 2017 Batch A stream I orientation course.
As eligible corps members prepare for their NYSC orientation camp starting soon, what do they need to know that no one will never tell them?
1. Get to camp early so as to get the best room that suits you and settle in.
2. Choose your room with care and check for facilities that will ensure your comfort such as wall sockets, fan, lamp holders and other appliances.
3. In your room, choose the top bunk as the will make you closer to the fan and the fresh air coming in from the window.
4. Buy a padlock to your bags to avoid losing valuables, and get a waist pouch to keep your money, phone and keys.
5. If you plan on giving the dry cleaners your clothes, put your code on it to show for ownership.
6. Set a daily alarm to wake you up early enough before others so as to get prepared before the drill instructors come.
7. Make friends in camp, as this is important. But be sure of the type of friends you make. Some even meet spouses.
8.Visit the church/ mosque in the morning if you need few minutes of extra sleep. 9. It might be difficult at first, but try to enjoy the drills, they will keep you up and doing, and in shape.
10 Do not be afraid to eat both camp and off camp food. Have a schedule, you will spend less and enjoy more.
11.If you want to be posted to a particular place for your service, get a request from your preferred place of PPA and give to your platoon leader on time while in camp.
12. If you do not want to march for your platoon, you should join the Martial arts classes, they are quite fun and you will be helping yourself by learning self-defense.
13. Make sure you fill the “book of life” it is one of the most important things to do.
14. Lastly, have fun.
