The attack came up just 48 hours after another attack was made on the institution, making it the third in the university in about 2 weeks. The borno police commissioner has confirmed that the bomber was the only one that died in the act.
Report has it that a male Boko- Haram bomber has again attacked the University of Maiduguri barely 48 hours after the tertiary institution was attacked by female bombers.
Sahara reporters writes that the bomber was on a mission to bomb another hostel in the University. The report noted that the bomber detonated his bomb behind the Demonstration Secondary School at the university, at the back of E.T.F hall which is a hostel full of students, but the bomber died in the process.
Premium Times said the bomber detonated his explosive device just outside the perimeter fencing of the school. This report quoted the Borno state police commissioner Damian Chukwu as saying the incident happened at about 10a.m.
He said the bomber hid near the secondary school and exploded his device when a security man came in his direction.
This has however raised tension and fear in the campus as students and workers expressed worries over the frequent attack.
