-The Nigerian government is showing interest in the military crisis happening in cote d’ivoire currently. This is as a result of a small group of soldiers that has suddenly turned rebel against the country’s government over delay in their salaries.
-The Nigerian government is making plans to end the impasse.
Statement from the presidency has made it known that the acting president Yemi Osinbajo has been in phone discussions with the Ivorian and Liberian president, as regard to a peaceful agenda concerning the impasse.
In a series of tweets on the presidency’s tweeter page, the presidency noted the readiness of the FG to work in hands with Economic Community of West African States(ECOWAS) and other relevant leaders to foster quick solution to the crisis.
Aso Rock on Wednesday, may 17, condemned the recent crisis by a small fraction of cote d’Ivoire military’s armed forces, against the government.
In a statetment made by the Nigerian presidency twitter page, the FG has expressed strong and committed support for president Alassane Ouattara, commending him for his ongoing efforts at resolving the crisis.
“ we urge the mutineers to return to their barracks and refrain from any action capable of undermining peace, security and democracy in Cote d’Ivoire”.
